A man wanted for a 2022 Augusta murder recently was arrested in Henry County.
Jamari Kaliq Williams, 19, of Augusta, was captured in Henry County and taken into custody, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. He was wanted for murder of Kyan Michael Bowie and possession of a gun during a crime.
Williams was booked into the Henry County Sheriff’s Office jail on Friday for fugitive charges and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, according to Henry County jail records. He was granted a $5,000 bond for the drug charges.

At 9:20 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2022, deputies responded to the 2100 block of B Street in Olmstead Homes off Broad Street and Lake Olmstead for a shooting, according to previous reporting.
When they arrived, they learned Bowie, 22, of Hephzibah, was shot. Bowie was taken by private vehicle to Augusta University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:33 p.m.
