Law enforcement officers are searching for a suspect who on Thursday jumped a counter at Regions Bank in Wrens, stuffed money in his clothes and fled on foot.
“At 1:45 p.m. (on Thursday, Feb. 1) a black male, between the ages of 30 and 40 entered the bank, approached the teller, asked for all the 100s, 50s and 20s. Then he jumped the counter and went through the cash drawers,” said Wrens Police Chief John Maynard. “He stuffed the money into his pants and sweatshirt and walked out.”
The suspect walked east between some trees at the edge of the property. Maynard said officers are currently looking into area video surveillance cameras and are already following leads on a vehicle and individuals.
The suspect was wearing a red beanie hat, red hoodie, gray sweatpants and black safety sunglasses.
No one was injured during the incident, Maynard said.
