WRENS, Ga. (WJBF) – A family in Wrens speaks out after an arrest due to a case of mistaken identity. The incident comes after police thought they found a bank robbery suspect . But authorities had the wrong person.
“Next thing you know, minute after later, we get surrounded by police, in a hostile manner,” D’Angelo Walker told NewsChannel 6.

It was a trip to the Dollar General on Main Street in Wrens where D’Angelo Walker picked up a Valentine’s Day gift for his girlfriend. It later turned into this:
The 18-year-old found himself in the custody of Wrens Police Officers and after a few tips, officers believed he matched a description of the suspect who robbed Regions Bank on Broad Street Thursday just before 2:00 p.m.
Walker said, “He comes up to me and throws me in handcuffs and I’m asking him why is this happening to me because, keep in mind, I’ve never had no criminal record, I’ve never been in trouble and never had to go to jail or anything like that.”
