Prayer vigil planned to honor Kendall Brown

AUGUSTA (WJBF) – Mt. Zion Mission Baptist Church is holding a prayer vigil on Thursday, February 8th to honor the late Kendall Brown.

The 45-year-old was last seen Sunday, January 24th at the church located at 2526 Lumpkin Road.

Organizers plan to “petition Heaven for our dear brother’s family, friends, and each other.”

They are asking that those who participate bring red, blue, white and brown balloons in honor of Kendall Brown’s favorite team, the New York Giants.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m.

Brown’s body was found Tuesday afternoon, February 6th,at 2:15 p.m. in a wooded area near his home after several days of extensive searches.

The search area spanned more than 250 acres using law enforcement officers from multiple county, state, and federal jurisdictions, infrared-sensitive drones, and a helicopter unit from the Georgia State Patrol.

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is continuing to investigate.

Coroner Mark Bowen tell NewsChannel 6 that there are no updates in the death investigation, at this time.
