NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – The victim in a recent deadly house fire has now been identified.
The fire happened on February 3 , around 2:47 a.m., at a home on the 100 block of Tiger Lily Circle in North Augusta.
After the fire was extinguished, the body of a male victim was found inside the home.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl M. Ables has identified him as 56-year-old John M. Syms.
Syms’ cause of death is reported to be smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
