SAN DIEGO –Zadie Posternack, 14, is one of the best young golfers in San Diego. She showed off her skills while taking first place in the Drive, Chip & Putt regional golf qualifier in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“It was just honestly a moment of full circle, seeing all that hard work — I knew — would pay off to finally pay off in that big event,” Posternack told FOX 5.
The Patrick Henry freshman now gets to swing at an even bigger event – the national Drive, Chip & Putt contest at Augusta National Golf Club.
Where to celebrate Lunar New Year in San Diego
“That’s just going to be an awesome experience. I know people all over the world try to get one day there, one experience there. I’m super lucky. I get to be one of those very, very few,” said Posternack.
Out of 80 finalists, Zadie was one of three San Diegans to earn their way to Augusta.
“Super cool they were a lot of girls down here in San Diego who are also doing the same thing as me,” Posternack continued. “Just being able to represent that 80 for everyone who’s come out and had fun with it is really cool.”
