AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — As Valentine’s Day approaches, many find themselves reflecting on love, relationships, and self-worth. Weekend Good Morning Augusta anchor Shawn Cabbagestalk sat down with licensed therapist and relationship coach, Radisha Brown.
Brown emphasizes the importance of prioritizing self-love as the foundation for healthy relationships, highlighting the need to address past trauma and embark on a journey of healing. She also offers insights into improving existing relationships through small gestures of love and open communication. Additionally, Brown provides advice for people feeling lonely on Valentine’s Day, encouraging them to engage in self-care activities and reach out to supportive friends.
Shawn: “You said it should be a day of self-love, right? Tell me a little bit about that.”
Brown: “I always tell my clients that Valentine’s Day is about self-love first, because we cannot show and appreciate love from a partner if we don’t love ourselves. So if you change your mindset around making Valentine’s self-love day, then it becomes less triggering.”
