Suspect injured in Columbia Co. GSP chase

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – Corporal Josh Bartlett with the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said the suspect, Nathan Franklin from Columbia County, passed him to turn left onto Columbia Road.

Corporal Bartlett noticed Franklin’s windshield had illegal tint. The trooper tried to stop the suspect but says he “floored it”.

GSP chased him through several neighborhoods shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.

Franklin lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on South Old Belair Road at Belglade.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A warrant will be issued for his arrest.
