The 1990 Disappearance of Dannette and Jeannette Millbrook

Dannette Latonia Millbrook and Jeannette Latrice Millbrook, fraternal twins from Augusta, Georgia, vanished without a trace on March 18, 1990, at the age of 15. Their mysterious disappearance has puzzled investigators and haunted their family for over three decades.

The twins’ last known sighting was by a gas station clerk at the Pump-N-Shop gas station on the corner of 12th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 4:30 pm. Reports indicate that they were seen purchasing chips, candy, and soda, seemingly behaving normally. However, this mundane moment would mark the last time anyone would see them.

On the day of their disappearance, Dannette and Jeannette had walked to the local Christ Presbyterian Church, where they encountered a man in a van who followed them part of the way back home. Later, they visited their godfather’s house to borrow money for bus fare, as their family had recently relocated to a new apartment farther from their school. Despite attempts to find companionship for their walk home, both from their cousin and older sister, they ultimately journeyed alone, a decision that would lead to their vanishing.
