AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) – An Augusta man has been found guilty of beating his mother’s boyfriend to death after a birthday celebration in 2019. According to prosecutors, Gary Stringer celebrated his 61st birthday and returned home, where he had allowed his girlfriend’s son to move in with his child. Andrez Kirkland, 38, is said to have told investigators he found Stringer dead after an apparent break-in, but while investigators interviewed Kirkland, they noticed injuries to his hands and fingers.
