Freeze Warning First Day of Spring

Get ready for a cold start to the month of Spring! Several CSRA counties are under a Freeze Warning from 12AM-10AM Tuesday. Temperatures will be between 30-32 degrees in the counties under the warning, and just barely above freezing in the counties not included. Fortunately, this will not be hard freeze, and there also will not be any frost. On top of the cold, we also have high winds. There is a Lake Wind Advisory in effect now through 8AM Tuesday. We need calm winds in order to see frost development, so that will not be the case this time. The downside is that the high winds will make it feel even colder, with our northern counties dealing with a wind chill in the upper 20s. Bring pets and plotted plants inside, and cover any outdoor plants. Dress very warm tomorrow and keep a light jacket even in the afternoon. Highs will only be around 60 degrees.
