Wet, cooler conditions on tap for the first weekend of May

Friday night update: The CSRA is in for a rainy weekend! It won’t rain the whole time, but there will be scattered showers and storms. Fortunately, there won’t be any severe weather. However, we will encounter heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. Saturday is looking like the best day to see showers and storms. The likelihood of rain decreases during the latter part of the weekend. Make sure to have your rain gear ready if you have any plans for Cinco de Mayo on Sunday! Due to cloud cover and rain, the weekend will see cooler temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s. As we head into next week, we can expect more showers and storms to kick things off on Monday. We anticipate around 1 inch of rain for most locations through Monday. There’s finally some sunshine in the forecast for Tuesday! Hot weather dominates next week’s weather forecast, with temperatures soaring into the lower 90s! In the second half of next week, there will be a chance of rain, and we may experience a few showers and storms on Friday.
