More heat, storms on tap for the end of June

Friday night update: Things are quieting down after a day of those classic summer storms. Expect warm temperatures overnight in the low to mid-70s. Patchy fog is possible Saturday morning in areas that picked up rain today, so be sure to drive carefully. Going into the afternoon, storms will flare up once again as a frontal boundary sticks around. Temperatures in the low 90s will be near average, but the humidity will make it feel even hotter, with feels-like temperatures around 100 degrees. Looking ahead to Sunday, a front will sweep through, bringing a greater number of showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon. A few storms could range from strong to severe, with damaging winds being the primary threat. The bigger story will be the dangerous heat indices approaching 110 degrees, potentially leading to the issuance of heat advisories. Be sure to stay hydrated, take breaks, wear bright clothing, and wear sunscreen. We kick off July next week with more of the same: heat, humidity, and storms.
