RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Nearly two years ago, Tyshameka Griffin’s story captured hearts across Palm Beach County. Pregnant, homeless, and struggling to find stability, she found an unexpected lifeline in a Riviera Beach police detective.
When CBS12 News reporter Katie Bente first met Griffin, she was holding her newborn, with a roof over her head and a second chance.
“I love my son to death, to pieces,” Griffin said, beaming as she spoke about her nearly 2-year-old son, I-Keem Timmons. “It’s not all about me anymore. It’s about him at the end of the day. I have to think for him, not me, because I’m not important anymore. It’s him. He runs the show.”
Griffin credits Detective Jennifer Jones, with the Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD), for helping her turn her life around…
