Coroner identifies Augusta drowning victim as 2-year-old child

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a child who fatally drowned Tuesday in Augusta.

Kenzo Burt, 2, of Augusta, was found unresponsive in a pool at their home, according to a news release from the coroner’s office.

Just after 5 p.m., deputies responded to the 2000 block of Westfield Drive for a drowning, according to previous reporting. When deputies arrived, they were told a child was found unresponsive in a pool.

Burt was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, The Chronicle reported.

“There is no additional information available at this time,” according to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

An autopsy has been scheduled, according to the coroner’s office.
