Augusta Volleyball nationally ranked, first time in program history

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Augusta University’s volleyball program received a national ranking from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25, ranking in at No. 25.

On the ranking announced this week, Head Coach Sharon Quarles said the team is looking forward to what lies ahead this season.

“We are excited to continue to work hard on the practice court to get ready for what’s to come next,” said Quarles. “Top 25 ranking – that is a first.”

Quarles added that not only is this a first for the program, but a first for her time as a head coach.

The Jaguars kicked off their 2024 season play this month, winning each match they’ve played in so far.

“We are very pleased with the performance of the Jaguars this past weekend against some very good competition,” said head coach Sharon Quarles.  “It is a huge step forward for us to respond as we did early in the season with six new players on the roster.
