New Georgia Hemp law to impact local dispensaries- how business owners feel about it

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – A new Georgia Hemp law will impact local businesses and the items they can sell. Some say it’s most of their inventory.

The “Georgia Hemp Farming Act” allows the sale of regulated Hemp THC levels in given products. This revision could impact local cannabis businesses, but one I spoke with says that it is not only removing more than 90 percent of their inventory, but also taking away treatment for those who use their products for medicinal purposes.

“They’re taking away an item known as THC-a, lowercase ‘a’ for apple– they’re taking away THC-a flower. The THC-a flower, itself, is a precursor to marijuana. So, you can smoke it and it turns into THC which is beneficial for any type of people who have– any type you can imagine– ailments that need it; Parkinsons and the likes…,” Founder of the Georgia Cannabis Project Dr. Robert Milhous said.

Dr. Robert Milhous is not only the founder of the Georgia Cannabis Project, but he’s also a local chiropractor who explains the impact that amending the current act could have on the use of other drugs.
