Here are the downtown Augusta roads closed for Arts in the Heart

As one of the biggest events of the year in Augusta approaches, locals should keep an eye out for street closures associated with the Arts in the Heart of Augusta festival.

The event, which features artists, musicians, craftsmen, authors and street performers, will take place at and around Augusta Common from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

All closures will remain in place until after the festival ends and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deems the area safe for traffic, according to officials. The festival ends Sunday at 7 p.m.

Here’s a look at the plan for street closures.

Arts in the Heart of Augusta road closures

As of late Tuesday, the following roads are closed for the festival:

  • Albion Avenue
  • Eighth Street (from Ellis to Broad streets)
  • Ninth Street (next to the Board of Education from Ellis to Broad streets)
  • Broad Street (from Sixth to Tenth streets)
  • MaCartan Street (from Broad to Jones streets)
  • Ninth Street (from Broad to Jones streets)
  • All parking wells on Broad Street (between Sixth and Tenth streets)
  • *Starting Friday, one eastbound lane of Reynolds Street will close from Eighth to Ninth streets.
