Sugar Magnolias may not be a school , but it was full of educators on Thursday night, including one former teacher that many people came out to see.
Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz spoke at her first event in Augusta since her husband Tim Walz was selected as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate. Walz shared some of her experiences as a teacher and used some shared practices and philosophies among educators to talk about various issues including campaigning.
“Teachers, you know you put your lesson plan books together?” she said. “You put it together by three minute, by five minute, and seven minute, and 10 minute increments. Right? You don’t waste a second. You plan it all out. So I’m asking you to share that idea with some other people around you because every single minute counts.”

However, they weren’t the only campaigners present.
