AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – For Augusta the heavy rain causing concerns in the Raes Creek area.
This is what it looks like at West Lake Forest at Heather Drive where the city blocked the road due to high water flooding the roadway.
Earlier we saw several vehicles turning around instead of driving through it. City engineers are keeping a close eye on other roads in the Raes Creek area.
“We’re getting more rain on the west side the Columbia County side we already have road flooding situations and we’re handling it as we speak right now we got more rain coming so we’re going to close that part of the road,” said Dr. Hameed Malik, Engineering Department Director.
A section of Ravenel Road off Walton Way is also blocked. City Engineers say the are keeping crew overnight because more rain is expected.
