Grovetown asking residents with perishable meats to help feed community

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – Grovetown City officials are continuing to work to clear the damage from Helene.

According to their Facebook page, they’re asking community members to bring perishable meats up to the Streets and Sanitation/Fleet Maintenance building at 1034 Newmantown Road.

They are feeding the community and crews while supplies last.

The post says that city facilities, with the exception of the emergency shelter at Liberty Park, will be closed until power is restored. This includes City Hall. Only essential personnel are asked to report for their duties until power is restored.

They have no updates on power but power crews have been seen around the area.

Please continue to be patient as we recover from this storm.
