Hurricane Helene hit Augusta and surrounding areas hard on Friday morning, and hazards remain throughout the area as crews work to clean up downed trees and power lines and clear debris. Power outages continue to be a widespread problem throughout the area, but power crews are working around the clock with additional crews coming in from out of state to assist.
