FEMA hiring locals to assist in disaster recovery effort

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – FEMA is looking to hire locals who wish to help in the recovery efforts following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene and Tropical Storm Debby.

FEMA is hiring for positions in Savannah, Augusta, Valdosta and Alpharetta. The positions will last for 120 days.

While the positions are not permanent, they can be used to be introduced and possibly transition into a disaster position.

The FEMA local hire program also allows community residents who have been impacted to contribute their local knowledge to the recovery process.

To apply, go to USAJOBS.gov . Search for FEMA and Georgia. You will need to create a profile in USAJOBS before applying. You must apply online for all positions.
