CSRA Veteran’s Day Parade 2024

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The City of Augusta honored veterans, near and far, this Veteran’s Day during a parade this morning.

Today is a day for U.S. Military veterans to be recognized for their unwavering commitment to this country, and their ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

“It’s just a sense of pride, and I’m thankful that I’m able to be here, but again, for the veterans that gave the ultimate sacrifice,” U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain veteran Steven Henry said.

It’s a feeling many felt Monday morning.

“My whole life has been taking care of soldiers,” veteran Dr. Barry Goldman said.

The city of Augusta, the local VA and veteran community came together for the CSRA Veteran’s Day parade.

Those, who are actively serving, like Hunter Garrett, say times like this can help inspire the next generation.

“Do what you want to do, and if you do decide to go to the military, it is a great way to set yourself up for later in life. It’s a great job, it’s really just a great way to serve yourself, serve your country, serve your family, and it’s very rewarding.”
