A local church offering something different during the holidays for people who may need encouragement

Aiken, SC. (WJBF) – Cedar Creek Church offers Surviving the Holidays to help people prepare for the challenges this time of year can bring to those who are hurt or grieving. The program focuses on two areas:  grief and divorce. The church’s pastor says the program gives people a sense of hope during the holidays.

“Not everybody feels holly jolly at Christmas, and being around a lot of the festivities, being in a church service even sometimes can be difficult and painful and really feel lonely and isolating, and what we’ve seen is this offer’s a different, a gentler approach to just meet people where they are,” said Phillip Lee, Pastor of Ceder Creek Church.

The grief seminar is on Saturday, November 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. for those aged 13 and older. The separation and divorce seminar is on Thursday, November 21st, from 6 to 8 p.m. and is for adults only. They do have childcare available for free if it is needed. You also do not have to be affiliated with Cross Creek or a church to attend.
