Beech Island Water District issues boil water advisory

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. (WJBF) – A boil water advisory is in effect for some customers of Beech Island Water District due to a water main break.

According to the Beech Island Water District, customers living on Pine Log Road between Storm Branch Road and Richardson Lake Road, including Storm Branch Road, the Russell Hill subdivision, Herndon Dairy Road, Piney Heights Road, Project Road, Pinecrest Drive, Keith Drive; Wheeler Circle, Appaloosa Way, Arabian Court, Cowan Court, Colt Road, Saddle Horse Road, Cato Road, Wayland Street, Buckskin Court, Elaines Court, Barber Court; Edgar Street, Pinecrest Drive, Demedics Blvd and those who experience low or no water pressure.

According to the press release, “There has been no confirmed contamination of the system. However, the potential for contamination exists because of the loss of pressure.”

As a precautionary measure, people must boil their water for one full minute before drinking or cooking.

Beech Island Water District apologized for any potential inconvenience from the incident.
