AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – On November 18th, around 9:57 pm, Aiken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 300 block of Wendy Lane in Windsor for a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived at the home, they found a 10-year-old girl with an apparent gunshot wound to her chest.
Deputies rendered aid until First Responders got there. First responders and Aiken County EMS provided emergency aid to the child who was later pronounced deceased on the scene.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl M. Ables has identified the victim as 10-year-old Miyah Harp.

Law enforcement’s preliminary findings in this investigation reveal that this shooting appears to be accidental. Investigators say a family member was reportedly handling a small caliber rifle when it was accidentally discharged.
