AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The bitter cold arctic air arrives today and lasts through the workweek. Dangerous wind chills below 15° are expected Tuesday and Wednesday morning. COLD WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect tonight through early Tuesday. WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for the southern CSRA – WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for portions of the western and central CSRA. Snow is expected Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Snow totals will be a dusting to 2″ for most, isolated areas could get 2″+ in warned areas. This will create hazardous road conditions through Thursday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for our area for wind chills below 10 -15° early Tuesday and Wednesday. Actual lows will reach the low 20s. Staying dry tonight through Tuesday morning.

Tuesday we can expect an area of low pressure to form in the western Gulf of America and pass to our south Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Temperatures should be cold enough through most of our atmosphere to support mainly snow. WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for the western and southern CSRA for snow totals between 1-3″. Other counties in the CSRA are expecting snow, but totals should be less than 2″, so those counties will likely be placed under a Winter Weather Advisory for minor winter impacts…
