Severe weather has arrived in Augusta .
An outbreak of storms that’s generated multiple tornados across the southern U.S. reached Augusta early Sunday, and the National Weather Service has issued tornado warnings, watches and thunderstorm warnings. Here’s what we know:
How bad is the storm?
A tornado warning was in effect until 6:45 a.m. for parts of Richmond and Aiken counties. A warning means one has been sighted. A tornado watch is tentatively in effect until 10 a.m. for Augusta and its surrounding counties including Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, Aiken, and Burke. It means the conditions are such that it could result in tornadoes.
