No, these thieves used an “unknown device” to make off with the supercharged Mopar before the dealer knew what hit them.
A Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was a sitting duck for two tech-savvy thieves at an Augusta Lexus dealer
Jim Hudson Lexus doesn’t sell many Mopars . As the name suggests, the Augusta, Georgia, dealership caters mostly to, well, Lexus vehicles. While you can get some V8-powered, RWD goodness in the Lexus IS500 F Sport Performance, a supercharged muscle car is a rare sight at the Georgia dealership. Now, it’s even rarer, thanks to the efforts of two car thieves with a penchant for Hellcats.
At the time of the theft, Jim Hudson Lexus had just two supercharged Mopars on the lot: a 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat and a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The thieves turned their attention to the Charger. They arrived in a black INFINITI Q50 and parked just ahead of the Dodge sedan.
According to the Augusta Chronicle , one of the thieves handed an “unknown device” to the other. Within seconds, the man with the equipment had opened the Charger, fired it up, and pulled away with the INFINITI sedan in tow. Just like that, the $71,238 muscle car was gone…
