AUGUSTA, Ga. — Augusta National Golf Club has ramped up its hospitality offerings in the last 15 years with the creation of Berckmans Place and more recently, Map & Flag, but the operator of the longest-running Masters hospitality operation — The Double Eagle Club — says it has no plans of slowing down.
Double Eagle, created by Intersport Founder Charlie Besser in 1992, is located almost directly across Washington Road from ANGC’s famed Magnolia Lane. The club, which has a capacity of 300, expects around 1,500 people to pass through during tournament week at around $2,000 per ticket, per day, according to Besser.
“Our reputation speaks for itself,” Besser said. “Whether Map & Flag existed or not, we’re trying to get better every year. We’re not doing anything specifically in response to what Augusta National might be doing with their hospitality.”…
