Georgia Summer Open Burning Ban begins May 1

GEORGIA (WJBF) – The Environmental Protection Division of Georgia’s Summer Open Burn Ban begins May 1 and lasts through Sept. 30.

The Open Burning Ban, which includes 54 counties in the state, prohibits citizens and businesses from burning yard and land-clearing debris. Columbia County and Richmond County are part of the ban.
