AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – To celebrate the Godfather of Soul, James Brown’s 92nd birthday, his family announced the launch of the James Brown’s ‘Don’t Be A Dropout Scholarship Fund’ as a secondary source of funds for students as he wished.
This new initiative will provide educational opportunities for talented and driven students pursuing post-secondary education.
“Education was always important to our father,” said Dr. Deanna Brown-Thomas, daughter of James Brown and President of The James Brown Family Foundation. “He believed deeply in the power of knowledge, discipline, and self-expression.
