No more Sunday alcohol sales or after-hours customers, Augusta tells Tiffany’s owners

An Augusta Commission ruling Tuesday gave a downtown nightspot what could be its last chance to legally stay in business.

Commissioners voted unanimously to a set of conditions that the owners of Tiffany’s Eatery and Lounge must meet to put an end to a string of reported violations that culminated with the onsite injuries to a Richmond County deputy in March and to a sheriff’s captain the weekend of Masters Week.

Specifically, permission granted by the city in January for expanded business hours has been revoked. Sunday alcohol sales are no longer allowed, and the closing times revert to 2 a.m. on weeknights and 2:30 a.m. Saturdays…
