Burke County schools staffer resigns amid investigation

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Burke County Schools employee has resigned amid an ongoing investigation, according to a spokesperson for the school system.

School officials say they received allegations on April 16 concerning James Jarvis, a paraprofessional, in regards to inappropriate disciplinary measures involving a student.

A Warren County teacher has been arrested after allegedly making verbal threats to students and staff, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

“Our administration acted swiftly,” the spokesperson said. “A preliminary inquiry by school and district officials immediately activated the mandated reporter policy.”…
