THOMSON, Ga. (WJBF) — The 9th Annual Golf Tournament returns Thursday, June 5, at the Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson, Georgia, with a special tribute marking the 50th anniversary of Lee Elder becoming the first Black golfer invited to play in The Masters.
The tournament also honors Augusta National’s Black caddies—Henry Brown, Jessie Ross, and Henry “Jnox” McClendan.
This four-person best ball (Captain’s Choice) event includes a shotgun start at 9 a.m., with late registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Entry is $90 for early bird registration through May 26, and $125 after that through the day of the event.
