3 local counties get Ga. state funds to help attract industry

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Three local counties are getting some extra money from the state to spend on economic development.

One of them is Burke County, which will get $35,278 to achieve Georgia Ready Accelerated Development certification for the county’s remaining 150 acres in the Waynesboro-Burke Industrial Park off Highway 25.

Orangeburg City Council members passed a resolution to commit $950,000 in reserve investment funds from the city’s Department of Public Utilities to Orangeburg County.
