North Augusta holds ribbon cutting for new trolley

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – The City of North Augusta held a ribbon cutting for their new trolley at the corner of Carolina Avenue and Butler Avenue on Thursday, June 19.

The city gave residents a first look at its new trolley, which will take people around the city with a vintage feel.

“We are so excited about the trolley,” said North Augusta Mayor Briton Williams. “What’s neat about this is we did two things. We actually did a historical marker. This is the actual stop of the original trolley of North Augusta and we have just bought a brand new trolley and we’re gonna start using it a lot, connecting Downtown and Riverside Village and all Third Thursday and history events, so we wanted to tie those two events in together.”
