AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded to Gordon Highway at Jimmie Dyess Parkway to assist Ft. Gordon Public Safety officials with a suspicious package.
They arrived on the scene about 10 am. Motorists in the area were diverted as a safety precaution.
NewsChannel 6 has learned the package consisted of luggage belonging to an on base soldier which was dropped off at the front sign to the installation by an airport delivery service. The soldier was contacted and retrieved his personal items…
