SUMMARY: A tropical system, Tropical Depression Three, is expected to become Tropical Storm Chantal Saturday, mainly impacting the South Carolina coast with heavy rain, flooding, and strong winds. The CSRA will see minimal effects: isolated to scattered showers mainly south and east of I-20, with drier conditions elsewhere. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect Saturday for the CSRA, including Augusta, with northeast winds gusting up to 30 mph, causing difficult driving and choppy lake waters. Early next week, rain chances may increase as the system moves inland, followed by a return to summer heat with highs near upper 90s before more storms arrive late week.
