AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Our high pressure ridge (aka heat dome) from early this week has broken down and given way to upper level troughing that will lead to higher storm chances and more seasonal temperatures. This pattern will continue today before another ridge builds over the region this weekend.

Severe weather chances will be limited, but stay weather aware for outdoor plans. Minor flash flooding is possible as slow moving storms produce rainfall rates over 1″ per hour.

The upper level trough over the region again today will result in the chance for hit or miss showers and storms late in the day and seasonal temperatures. Highs today will be in the lower to middle 90s…
