AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – An upper-level ridge over the region will keep temperatures warmer than average through Tuesday. A backdoor cold front pushes through Tuesday, bringing higher rain chances and slightly cooler high temperatures by the middle of the week.
Heat Advisory in effect for the entire CSRA through Monday at 8 PM for feels like temperatures as high as 112+. Remember to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks to prevent heat illness.
Monday, an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon/evening, the main concern being brief damaging wind gusts. Stay weather aware!
Higher storm chances are anticipated early this week, especially Tuesday, as a back-door cool front slides in from the northeast. A slight risk has been issued for a good portion of the CSRA Tuesday for the chance for strong to severe thunderstorms. Strong wind gusts are the main concern.
Hope is on the horizon for cooler and less humid weather Wednesday through Friday – if the aforementioned cool front is able to pass through the CSRA.
