AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Temperatures will start to rise Today a few degrees above average. A prolonged, dangerous heat wave is expected over the CSRA this weekend into next week.

Today will stay mostly dry, and temperatures will be hotter than what we’ve been dealing with since Wednesday. Highs will reach the mid-90s, but feels like temperatures will be up to 102. An isolated shower or storm is possible in the afternoon through sunset.

First Alert has been issued High pressure will build into the region this weekend and an upper level ridge (heat dome) will center over the Southeast.
