The name First Watch probably won’t make many think of a restaurant. But the founders of First Watch restaurant cleverly adopted the nautical term for the first watch, or work shift, on a ship.
According to the company website, the name emphasizes the early start of the day on a ship, which works for a restaurant that’s open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
