AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Temperatures will stay below average for the next several days with northeast wind pinning cooler than normal temperatures in place through early next week. Isolated showers and storms possible today and Saturday, but higher rain chances expected Sunday into next week.

The “wedge” continues to stay parked over the region the next few days, keeping temperatures cooler than average and skies cloudy. This happens when surface high pressure builds over the Northeast US, giving our region a cool northeasterly breeze. Meanwhile, the flow aloft remains warm and moist out of the southwest leading to clouds.

Mostly cloudy skies will continue today. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s. Wind will be slightly breezier out of the northeast between 8-12 mph…
