CarolinaPower’s Bradley Michie, Columbia (S.C.) Branch Manager, and Cordiro Harrison, Assistant Project Manager, are now certified to teach electrical apprenticeship classes using curriculum developed by NCCER – including Craft, Safety, and/or Management Training.
In the Midlands region, electrical apprenticeship education partners with whom CarolinaPower is closely aligned include: Lexington Technology Center (LTC), a career and technical education program serving high school students in Lexington County School District One; and Lexington Two Innovation Center (L2IC) in Cayce, SC, a vocational school offering an Electricity (Architecture & Construction) program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as an electrician and electrician helper or in related occupations.
Registered with the S.C. Department of Labor, CarolinaPower’s comprehensive four-year electrical apprenticeship program teaches the skills for both construction and maintenance electricians. The program provides a combination of classroom, laboratory, and live work experiences. Apprentices work full-time during the day and attend classes several evenings per week.
