SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – All lanes of I-20 Eastbound are closed in South Carolina at Exit 22 due to an overturned tanker.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SC DOT), the vehicular crash happened at Exit 22 at US Highway 1-Columbia Highway North near the Aiken Municipal Airport which is causing a congestion on I-20 Eastbound between Exit 22-US1 and Exit 29-South Carolina 49.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office posted this message on their Facebook page:
“Please avoid the area of I-20 at exit 22 east bound. The east bound on ramp to the interstate will be shut down due to an overturned tanker. You can access the Interstate via Wire Road if you need to go towards Columbia. The west bound lanes are not affected at this time.”
According to Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, it is believed that the tanker truck was carrying used oil that is leaking onto I-20 Eastbound, which is requiring the road closure…
