First Alert forecast | Hot Weekend. Fall Temps Return for Upcoming Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Temperatures will warm into the lower to middle 90s again Saturday, then a cold front will bring scattered showers Sunday and cooler temperatures for the week ahead. A cold front moves into the region this weekend and brings the chance for hit or miss showers and storms Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Storm Prediction Center does have the northern part of the CSRA in its Level 1 (Marginal) risk level for severe thunderstorms, so an isolated storm in places like Saluda, McCormick, Lincolnton, Washington, Thomson and nearby areas may contain strong wind and heavy rain.

There is no need to cancel your outdoor plans, but you will want to stay weather aware just in case during the afternoon and evening hours.

The front will stall south of the region early next week and bring back cooler than average temperatures. A cooler northeast breeze will drop highs into the upper 70s and lower 80s Monday through Wednesday. Keep it here for updates during the week…
