Front brings storms Sunday, big cooldown next week

Saturday night update: As we head late into Saturday night, the line of storms that pushed through this evening is now wrapping up and moving out of our area. However, we could still see a few scattered showers linger as we head toward dawn. It will stay mild and muggy, with temperatures dipping into the upper 60s to low 70s.

Sunday is going to be a fascinating day across our area, all thanks to an incoming cold front. Your location will really determine what kind of weather you get! For those of you north of I-20, cooler air will be filtering in, with highs only expected to be in the mid 80s. In contrast, south of I-20, the heat and humidity will hang on a bit longer, allowing highs to still touch 90 degrees!

With all that moisture in the air ahead of the front, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms fire up in the afternoon, mainly for folks south of the I-20 corridor. By Sunday night, the rain should push toward the coast as the cooler, drier air finally takes over for everyone…
