AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – American Red Cross volunteers are assisting four families whose homes, located in Market Street Station Apartments on Calderwood Drive in Aiken, were damaged by a fire Sunday afternoon.
They are helping seven people by providing financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing and shelter, along with referrals to needed resources.
North Augusta Public Safety responded to a deadly single-vehicle crash Saturday night.
“As our teams work with the families impacted, our hearts go out to them and we want to provide all the support we can,” said Susan Everitt, CEO of the Red Cross of South Carolina. “This devastating event reminds us that fires can happen anywhere, at any time, and we must always be prepared for these unfortunately frequent disasters. We encourage families to practice their home fire safety plan and test their smoke alarms.”…
